Combining a blog with Adsense and Affiliate Programs is a legitimate way of making money on the internet. This business model has very low cost and unlimited income potential.
Here is a summary:
- Decide what your area of interest is. You can blog about a range of topics but focussing on a “niche” is recommended to give better results.
- Research the keywords for your niche. These are the words people will enter into search engines to find your blog. There is an excellent tool over at DigitalPoint. I suggest you select the top five keywords from your area of interest.
- Setup a blog. It can be a free version from Blogger or hosted on your own website. Website hosting is quite cheap ($10/month for or less) and some hosts will throw in a free domain as an incentive for you to sign up with them. If you go for your own web page pick one which has an option called Fantastico. Fantastico will automatically setup a blog for you. This means your entry into the world will be quick clean and painless.
- Now write lots of articles around the subject of each your keywords. Make sure the content is unique an original. As a bare minimum post 1 article per day for 30 days then after that at least one per week.
- Each time you post an article be sure to tell the world. You do this by issuing a “ping” to RSS feed directories. If you setup your blog on your website then your blog software should automatically to this for you. If it doesn’t or you are using a free blog follow the instructions at Pingomatic.
- “Claim” your blog at Technorati
- Once you have a good supply of pages in your blog (30 days) apply to Google for a Google Adsense account and sign-up with Clickbank. Experiment with Ad placement to find the most profitable positions.
- Now all you need to do is promote your site. Keep posting fresh content. Place links to your blog on every other website which is related to your topic. Put a link to your blog in your emails. The key is to have links back to your blog scattered all over the web. The more people see these links and click on them, the more your income will rise.
